The hosts faced Colombia in their second match of the group stages. The Argentineans drew their first game despite giving it all that they had; however, the Colombians won their first game and were at the top of the group.
The toughest side in the group stages for the Argentineans was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Batista to prove that he is an extraordinary coach. The Argentinean tactician played almost the same formation but he made a few tactical changes up front and switched two players at the back.
While http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Batista-c7379 played his favourite 4-3-3 formation.
Nicolas Burdisso and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 on every counter attack.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Zanetti-c18096, who played in the right back position during the first game of the tournament, featured in the left back role. Last time the youngster Rojo couldn’t do much in the left back role and he failed to impress; therefore, Sergio Batista decided to switch things round as he placed one of his most experienced players in the left back position.
The right back role was taken by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Zabaleta-c29022. The Argentinean full back had a marvellous game and with this sort of a performance he will definitely stick into the first team. He had no trouble while playing as a full back and he was not only outstanding while defending; in fact, he had a great game while moving up the flank and crossing the ball in.
The midfield did not change at all. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071 featured in his favourite holding midfield position. Mascherano did not have a good game as his tackles were all over the place and he looked frustrated with the ball not coming to him a lot of times. He usually threw his body towards the ball and often fouled the opposition players in dangerous positions. Mascherano was lucky not to get booked despite fouling the Colombian midfielders numerous times.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Esteban-Cambiasso-c12912 played in the centre of the pitch. Cambiasso had a very silent game. Last time he couldn’t produce magic up front but he was phenomenal while making tackles. However, this time he was poor in handling the ball and delivering it to the right person at the right time.
His partner in the midfield, Ever Banega, again couldn’t quite live up to his expectations. The Argentinean fans would still be thinking why http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Skills-c40539 and how he can tackle the ball.
