As the second half kicked off, both the coaches decided to play the same teams as they looked satisfied with the first half performance.
The first half for both the teams ended 1-1 with Perez scoring the first goal of the game for the Uruguayans in the fifth minute while Gonzalo Higuain equalized during the 18th minute. The Uruguayans were a man down in the first half and it was
the goal scorer Perez who got booked twice and left his team down to ten men.
With the second half kicking off, the Argentineans tried to move the ball around as much as possible just to take advantage of the extra man. The Argentineans relied too much on possession while the Uruguayans were more direct in their approach and whenever
they had the ball at their feet, they wanted to attack in order to take advantage of the little possession that had.
Luis Suarez, who seemed silence in the first half, looked to be much brighter in the second half. Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez often combined well to give the Uruguayans some hope in the second half. On the other hand, Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain were

Both the Argentinean centre backs, Burdisso and Milito got booked after a challenge on Luis Suarez. Later, the Uruguayan man also managed to get Javier Mascherano red carded and brought the game back to level terms for both the teams in terms of men on the
pitch.
While the Argentineans were at a man’s advantage, they looked to be threatening the Uruguayan goal but the Uruguayans were simply too solid at the back.
