http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Romero-c33100 – 7.0:
The Argentinean goal stopper was not at his best throughout the game but he still managed to make some crucial saves. The goal scored by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Perez was not really Romero’s fault and there was no one to cover the Uruguayan midfielder in the box. The first header taken by Caceres was perfectly blocked by Romero and the deflected shot was tapped in by Perez. Romero also dived in to save a shot from Diego Forlan which looked to be finding the net.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Zabaleta-c29022 – 7.0:
The Argentinean full back was quite phenomenal defensively. While making a run forward, he did get into good positions but still couldn’t really do enough to help the team find a goal. He tried to take a long ranged shot twice in the game but he failed to score as his efforts couldn’t find the target. A few of his crosses found his team mates inside the penalty area but they failed to convert.
Nicolas Burdisso – 6.5:
Nicolas Burdisso wasn’t really convincing in the centre back position. He was often troubled by Luis Suarez and Diego Forlan at the back. His aerial abilities were put on to a test which he failed miserably. He didn’t win a single header during the set pieces taken by Diego Forlan as they always flew over him and found a Uruguayan player. Despite a poor performance during the game, his penalty in the shoot out was simply phenomenal.
Gabriel Milito – 5.0:
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Milito-c14321 gave a poor performance throughout the game. He was also troubled by Luis Suarez time and time again. The Uruguayan star found it relatively easy to get past him and later switched himself to his side to take advantage of his slow pace. He got booked while tackling Suarez and it was crucial for the Argentineans as they went a man down in the second half and he had to be careful after the booking. His pairing with Burdisso looked shaky throughout the game.
Javier Zanetti – 7.5:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Zanetti-c18096 gave another solid performance for the Argentinean side and he proved that he is the most experienced player on the pitch. He barely made mistakes on the pitch. His passes found the man he was looking for and he was rarely troubled by Gonzalez on the left flank. He was exceptional while making a move forward during the first half but he was usually seen in his own half to put solid tackles on the opposition players.
Javier Mascherano – 5.5:
The Argentinean skipper could not really dictate play in the midfield. His side had a man’s advantage in the second half but he couldn’t really hold the ball for a long period of time in the midfield. Mascherano had a very good first half and his tackles mostly found the ball and not the man. Later, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071 was the player who made a bookable offence on Luis Suarez and got himself yellow carded for the second time to put his side down to 10 men also.
