Argentina wins 5th position in the FIVB Boys' Youth Volleyball World Championship
The Argentinean team was able to make a clean sweep over their Bulgarian opponents to get the fifth position in the FIVB Boys' Youth Volleyball World Championship on August 28th. The competition between the two sides took place in Bahia Blanca,
Argentina.
Not only were the Argentineans able to win the match in three back to back sets, they got themselves the victory by dominating the Bulgarians throughout the match. Bulgarians showed some fight in the first set but they could not keep up with the Argentineans
in the end. The second set was Argentina’s from the beginning as the Bulgarians could not do much except trail behind all the way. The third set saw some sparks flying from the Bulgarian side but Argentina was quick to blow them out and win the match at the
following final set scores: 25-20, 25-11 and 25-19.
The coach of the Argentinean side, Fabian Muraco, expressed himself in the following manner at the press conference that was conducted after the match had reached its close: “Congratulations to our team, because always played to win. Congratulations to all
the people working in this tournament. We played as a group and not individually."     
On the other hand, the Bulgarian coach, Atanas Mitrev, shared his views by giving these statements: “Congratulations for Argentina players and coach. They were motivated, they are a good ensemble."
The Bulgarians were able to get the lead at the first technical time out of the opening set at 8-6 but by the time the second technical time out came, the Argentineans were leading at 16-11. After the two sides came back onto the courts, Argentina did not
have much trouble staying in control and bagging the first set of the game at 25-20.
The Argentineans started the second set with forced and got to a 8-5 lead early on. They were able to increase the gap and left the Bulgarians far behind at 16-6 when the second technical time out came. The Bulgarians could not recover from the deficit and
made it a piece of cake for the Argentineans to win the set at 25-11.
The Argentineans got themselves the advantage at 8-4 in the third set. The Bulgarians tried to close in the gap and brought the score to 16-14 at the second technical time out. However, the Argentineans were in no mood to let the game slip out of their hands
and they steadily moved towards a win at 25-19.
The top scorer among both teams was the Argentinean player, Gonzalo Quiroga, as he scored 19 points while no one from the Bulgarian side was able to register double digit scores.
