Argentine Milton Caraglio joins New England Revolution – Major League Soccer news
Major League Soccer franchise http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Milton-Caraglio-c25935, upon penning down the designated player contract, will occupy the international spot for the next four
years.
The player is yet to arrive in the US but the management has confirmed that both parties have finalized the deal and the team is just waiting for the player to undergo his medical.
“We've been pretty open and public about our desire to add a player or two during this window,” vice president of player personnel Michael Burns told the media on Tuesday afternoon. “We're looking forward to getting Milton in as quickly as possible and getting
acclimated to our guys, both on and off the field.”
Caraglio was also being eyed by Serie A outfit, Catania, and Barclays Premier League club, West Ham United. The Hammers even went as far as a medical but the Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury the player had suffered in 2009 led to the process breaking down.
However, the Revs are not concerned with the injury. The MLS team have done their research on the injury and have received positive responses from Caraglio’s former physicians and trainers.
Moreover, the Argentinean’s performances in the last two seasons since the injury substantiate the fact that he is in the fullest of his health.
The exploits Caraglio had shown in the last two years have not only created a stir in the football leagues like MLS but also attracted attention from Europe.
“When all of that added up – and, obviously, it took a little bit longer than we had hoped – we were glad we were able to get it done,” Burns said. “We look forward to his arrival.”
Caraglio started his professional career in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rosario-Central-c40380, an Argentinean first division club, in 2007 at the age of 18. After recovering from the injury in 2009, the player held firm on his stance and posted 49 appearances for Los Canallas, scoring 11
goals in the process.
As far as his international career goes, the striker was called in by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Esteban-Fuertes-c12917 replaced
him instead.
Caraglio fulfils the Revs’ main objective of a lanky striker in the front line. The team have been struggling in the attacking third, and that has pinned them down in the Eastern Conference rankings.
In addition to receiving a consistent goal poacher in the front line, the team have also received an excellent athlete.
The player is scheduled to arrive in Massachusetts on Wednesday and will go through the physical examination on Thursday. Caraglio has already been given the green signal to take on CD http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chivas-USA-c38798 on Saturday.
