A few months ago I looked into going to argentina and the peso was tied to the US dollar. Now it looks like its 3 peso's to 1 dollar. Why is the peso only 33 cents now? Is it going to stay that way for long? Can anyone tell me why it crashed like this?

  1. When I was in Argentina the peso was 2,90/3pesos for 1$

two summers ago, so maybe you have mistaken the argentinian peso, for some other "peso" and another country

but still I enjooyed Argentina and I hope to go back one day in my life

  2. Actually, last time the peso rate was 1 peso 1 dollar was about 2001. The peso is not at 33 cents. The rate, as if friday 21st. is 3.14 / 3.17

Clearly, you are mistaken to some other peso of another country.

  3. yeah it's been 3 pesos to the dollar for quite sometime now...It was the same exchange rate when I travelled to Argentina a year and half ago.

  4. It crashed bacause of the economy of our country. The things are very bad. We hope that the dolar can stay in that price because all things can be very expensive to the argentinian peolple. If you want to travel along the Argentina and see different scenaries and the people is very friendly. If you want to travel to Argentina and also to the Patagonia Argentina i recommend you to visit http://viaggi.patagonia-argentina.com There you will see all you need to travel to Argentina and the Patagonia.
