Argentinean squad for the Copa America 2011 (Part 1)
Argentina is the host country for the Copa America 2011. The South American Giants are favourites to win the Copa America title not only because of their status as hosts but also because of the star power included in their team.
The Argentineans did not do very well during the last international competition that they played in. While being under the former Argentinean player, Diego Armando Maradona, the Argentinean squad could only manage to reach the quarter finals of the FIFA
World Cup 2010.
In the quarter final stage Argentina had to face the high-flying German side which won 4-1 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 after winning 4-0.
After the failure in the FIFA World Cup 2010, the Argentinean Football Association decided to change the head coach to Sergio Batista. Under Batista the team managed to reform and play quality football. The first match they played was against the World Champions,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. Argentina managed to win the game 4-1 with the help of their star strikers who totally outplayed the Spanish national team.
Now heading towards the Copa America 2011, Sergio Batista had to make sure that he selects the best players available to him. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Armando Maradona made a huge mistake during the FIFA World Cup 2010 when he decided to select healthy amount of strikers and
didn’t take the best of defenders who were available to him.
The Argentinean stars like Javier Zanetti and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonas-c18967 Gutierrez played as a right back for Argentina and he was the one who was exploited by
the Germans throughout the game. Most of the attacks were created by the left wingers of the German side who, at the end of the day, had to face Jonas Gutierrez.

The three goalkeepers chosen for the Copa America 2011 are: the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mariano-c23890 Andujar. Andujar is the number 1 goal stopper for the Argentinean national
side but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Romero-c33100 has mostly appeared in the first team.
Few of the decisions made by Sergio Batista are extraordinary; however, leaving out the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Walter-Samuel-c36618 might be the biggest mistake made by him. Currently, he has named eight defenders in the squad.
