Argh! ID Tags...anyone know where I can get a GOOD, LARGE one?

I have bought TONS of ID tags for my dogs...I have to keep buying new ones because the writing keeps fading away.

Does anyone know where I can buy ones that will actually LAST?

I also can't seem to find big ones, they're all small. I need a good big one for a Giant breed.

(I'm in the UK, so I need to be able to buy it over here. American websites are fine as long as they post to the UK).

Oh, and how do you guys have your ID Tags? I mean like, what do yuo put on there? I have my dog's name, my phone no. and my postcode. But people have told me not to have their name on it for some reason....

  1. I love the collars that have the info sewn right on the collar.

  2. Depends how much space there is, but the dogs name and your phone # should be enough.  You can have them engraved, those do last forever.

  3. I'm not sure if they deliver to the UK or not, and I apologize if they don't.. but you can get these tags pretty much anywhere and they work great for my Dane, Mastiff and Pyr... I haven't had to replace them once since getting these. On my tags, I write their names, my name, my number and "Don't be a d**k, call my mom" haha.

Obviously, you want to get the large size.

  4. You can use ID Collars instead of tags. http://www.dogidcollar.com/

Most of them are either embroidered on or are engraved very deep.  Wear Resistant tags are also fantastic if they are made of brass.

That one can be clipped onto a collar.

Petsmart usually has engravers in the store that can make you ID collars if you don't want to order them online. I have no idea if the site I posted up there ships to the UK, I can't find a statement.

I have my tags set up as such>

    Max

    x*x-x*x-xxxx

My address goes on the back of the tag.

As well as being tagged, my guys are chipped too.

  5. I go to Boomerang Pet Tags. They rock.

    On the tags, I put:

    My contact info (addy, cell #);

    "Micro-chipped"

    "Reward"

That's enough for anyone to be able to find me, but not enough to allow them to re-register her microchip, and gives *incentive* to find me instead of keeping her.

  6. They usually have machine that engraves it at pet stores. The gold ones last the longest and you can fit the most lines on the ones shaped like bones.
