I've been ill recently and some medication i've been taking makes your insides (wee, vomit, tears etc) very dark orangey kinda colour. Anyway i was sick and it went on my white trousers/jeans. As well as that, it's in the crotch area so it completely looks like i've wet myself!! I've just moved into dorms in the US so i'm half new to washing in the first place.

Any tips on what to do. Wash the trousers first obviously, do people use fabric conditioner out in the US (i'm from the UK)? How do i get rid o the stain, if you can get rid of it or lighten it?

Thanks in advance!

  1. This is what I would do and I'm pretty good about getting stains out. First of all, everyone should have a bottle of Shout or other laundry pretreatment. I don't know if they have that brand in the UK or not. Spray a generous amount on the stain and rub it in. Let that sit for 5-10 minutes. In the meantime, fill the washer up with water and add your detergent like normal, but since the pants are white, add the recomended amount of bleach (it will say on the bottle) to the water as well. After the washer has filled up, throw your whites in, along with the pants with the stain and let it run it's cycle. That should do the trick. If not, repeat the steps. Don't dry them or the stain will be there forever.

  2. Try soaking the jeans in a strong solution of Oxyclean.

  3. You could try soaking them in some Borax and and white vinegar or you could make a paste using those products and letting it sit for at least a half hour then wash them as you normally would
