  1. we have "hypermarchés" wich sells absolutly everything !

more commun is "auchan" "carrefour" , but generaly around this big, big  shops, there is all other shops like ikea, fnac, all this kind of speciallised shops, they take place at cities entrance. outside downtown, you'll need a car to go there.

it's really huge !!generaly called "centre commercial"

  2. There are many hypermarket chains (combination of supermarket + department store). They sell EVERYTHING: food, appliances, anything for the house, gardening, electronics, TV, bikes, games & toys, jewellry, home phones, cell phones, furniture, clothes, shoes, bags & suitcases, outdoor and camping, you name it, they have it... French hypermarkets are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypermarket...

    They also sell online:

    Auchan: http://www.auchan.fr/index.jsp

    Carrefour: http://online.carrefour.fr/vente-achat-e...

    E. Leclerc: http://www.e-leclerc.com/home.asp

But since Argos doesn't seem to have any supermarket section the real equivalent would just be a department store (a French invention by the way): BHV, Galeries Lafayette, Le Printemps are the most famous ones.

  3. You mean a catalogue shop like Argos, or Index, or Littlewood in Britain. Yes, here we do have a catalogue shop like that called La Radoute, though it's product range hasn't got as many variety as in Britain.
