Argos replace/refund?

The item I got as a present is damaged, yet still in its original packaging and with the cat number on the side. It is excluded from the 30 day money back guarantee, but not from the 1 year one. I don't have the receipt, but the site suggests that the cat number counts as proof of purchase.

Will I be able to get a replacement product or a refund?

if you paid by credit card etc it will show on your statement if you paid by cash i think you may have a prob,as unless the item designe changed the bar code will always stay the same although the goods may be 1day or 1yr old.cheers.
