Ari Januari outshines Romario Y to ensure his presence in pre quarter-finals – Bali Open Update

Indonesia’s talented shuttler Ari Januari continued with his top form and marched into the pre quarter-final round in Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.
He outclassed Romario Y in all departments of the game and sealed a straight-set victory with a splendid result of 21-14 and 21-14.
This Men’s Singles encounter took place at local badminton arena of Denpasar and it kept both contenders head-to-head for 30 minutes.
Ari Januari, who is third seeded player of this tournament, served the notice of his supremacy in both games whereas his unseeded competitor remained at lower end all the way to final moments.
The opening game set the overall tempo as Ari did not give his opponent enough time to get settled and confounded him with an intensive attack.
He unleashed a series of power packed strokes and confined Romario in the rear court. He employed unusual tactics and bagged many valuable points in a row.
He mounted pressure by piling up a respectable total before the interval and then magnified the impact by prevailing in couple of consecutive rallies immediately after the break.
Though, Romario strived hard to come out of his rival’s influence and he managed to hit the mark to some extent but his fluctuated performance was the biggest hurdle in his way.
On the other hand, Ari Januari showed superior finishing skills and wrapped this segment of the showdown with an impressive knock of 21-14.
The second set proved just a replay of previous one as Romario failed to rise on his toes and crashed out of this home event in a woeful manner.
First sign of trouble came for him when his competitor snatched couple of successive points and established an unassailable lead in no time.
He had no reply to Ari’s masterly crafted strokes and things got worse when deficit increased to seven points.
Meanwhile, Ari Januari kept mounting pressure with back-to-back productive rallies and stole the limelight with a lustrous performance of 21-14.
Now his next challenge will be to surpass Rudi Cahyadi Budhiawan to make his way into the quarter-final round.
