Ariana Kukors captures Women’s 100m butterfly gold – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational
Ariana J Kukors of BSS-FL captured gold medal of the Women’s 100m butterfly on last day of the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday June 5.
The 23-year-old Kukors dictated terms to her challengers throughout the butterfly event and faced no trouble in occupying gold medal of the event. Her commendable start played a vital role in her victory and she reached the finishing wall for the title of the event.
With her astonishing efforts, she stayed comfortably ahead of her opponents throughout the discipline and surfaced on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 01.35 seconds for gold medal.
Her scintillating effort remained 1.24 seconds slower from Sarah B Bateman of PA-FL, who occupied silver medal of the event by submitting a time of 1 minute and 02.59 seconds.
The second position holder was trailed by Alexandria J Merritt of ATAC-FL, who remained 0.42 seconds apart and reached the victory stand for bronze medal by reporting time of 1 minute and 03.01 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Karie L Haglund of T2-FL, who stayed 0.68 seconds apart and hit the finishing wall with an effort of 1 minute and 03.69 seconds.
Haglund was chased by her teammate, Bridget K Halligan, who emerged on the finishing blockade as fifth best finisher by producing a time of 1 minute and 04.17 seconds.
Halligan remained 0.21 seconds faster from Kaitlin M Frehling of SPA-FL, who finished sixth in the event by touching the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 04.38 seconds.
Subsequently, seventh finest spot of the event was secured by Jamie L Bohunicky of GSC-FL, who was 0.26 seconds behind and posted a time of 1 minute and 04.64 seconds.
The 21-year-old Bohunicky was chased by Hannah L James of SYS-FL, who remained marginally behind and ended eighth in the event with the timing of 1 minute and 04.70 seconds.
In addition, the championship ended after the conclusion of all planned events while the position holders received awards and accolades for their gruelling efforts after the session.
