Arianna Barbieri clinches Women’s 100m backstroke gold – Swimming news
Arianna Barbieri of Italy clinched gold medal of the Women’s 100m backstroke on the second day of the 2013 Sette Colli Trophy Meet in Rome, Italy on Friday, June 14.
The Italian swimmer lived up to the expectations of her opponents in the 100m discipline as she earned her way towards the wall for the title. just like the previous events, the audience witnessed stiffed competition in 100m backstroke, where Barbieri was
able to secure the title.
With her astonishing pace, she remained only an inch ahead of her following swimmers as she emerged on the finishing end by producing an effort of 1 minute and 01.42 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Elena Gemo of Italy, who was 0.12 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and transpired on the finishing end by producing an effort of 1 minute and 01.54 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Cloe Credeville of France, who was 0.37 seconds away from her preceding finisher and transpired on the finishing wall for bronze medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 01.91 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the discipline was obtained by Carlotta Zofkova of Italy, who remained only 0.29 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 02.20 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the event was secured by Margherita Panziera of Italy, who remained 0.41 seconds apart and tapped the finishing end by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 02.61 seconds.
Sixth spot of the event was secured by Carlotta Fiordoro, who was only 0.27 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 02.88 seconds.
Federica Meloni, who was only an inch slower from upsetting her preceding swimmer and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 02.98 seconds, chased Fiordoro.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Stefania Cartapani, who remained 0.27 seconds slower and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 03.25 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades at the victory ceremony of the race after the session.
