Question:

Ariel's Grotto?

My family will be taking a trip this summer to Disneyland. We are looking into doing a dinner at Ariel's Grotto in California Adventures. Does anyone have any reviews on the food, characters, etc.? We would have a wide range in ages, 16, 15, 12, 11, 7, and 5. All are girls except for one boy. (he doesn't mind eating with princesses!)

  1. Just to be sure you are aware that Ariel's Grotto Resturant is  in California Adventure not Disneyland.   The Ariel's Grotto in Disneyland is actually the Meet & Greet for Ariel(with fins).

The food is average at best.   The price you are paying for is the Character portion, where you can get autographs and pictures with the princesses without the long wait.   So if you are going there for the food you will be better going to one of the other restaurants.  If you are going there for the Princesses then you may find it worth it.  Especially for the 5 & 7 year olds.

For Charcters they usually try to have 3 Princesses along with Arial(w/legs not fins).  Ariel has always been there, but the others varied depending on when we were there.  You can expect that as each princess makes the rounds they will spend a couple of minutes(at most) with each table.  If the resturant is really empty you may get a few more minutes.

Since you are going there for Dinner I would suggest that you try and get a table outside.

  2. I would totally suggest going there.

I went there for my 18the birthday with my Mom. I had a lot of fun. The food is good, like other food at Disneyland.

When I was there, a bunch of princesses were there. It's not too childish, but not too grown up either.

    Have fun!
