http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RSC-Anderlecht-c40394’s Ariel Jacobs reiterates his desire to top the UEFA Europa League group table after defeating Lokomotiv Moscow and speaks on
Mbokani's recent injury.
The fact that RSC Anderlecht have progressed to the Knock-out stages of UEFA Europa League means little for the Belgian outfit’s manager, Ariel Jacobs, who has sets his standards even higher.
The Belgian outfit is yet to lose a group stage encounter and will host Lokomotiv Moscow in the upcoming and last group stage game at home. Jacobs has reiterated his desire to top the group table in a bid to extend their successful
European run.
Jacobs, who joined the Belgium outfit from Mouscron, has warned Anderlecht against complacency and tipped them to continue the winning momentum after defeating AEK Athens previously.
He went on to praise the Parovozy, who had earlier tasted a humiliating 2-0 home defeat against Anderlecht, and revealed that they will try to complete a double against the Railroaders to remain atop the table.
“Any professional football player goes to the match with a desire to win. Although we have won in Moscow but we will continue the efforts to finish first. It will give us more confidence and a psychological advantage. Our priority
is the first place on the group table and winning the all six group stage games.” The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 White player was quoted as saying.
Anderlecht striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dieumerci-Mbokani-c11230, contrary to expectations, will not be included in the starting line-ups against Lokomotiv after the Congolese professional footballer felt pain in his muscles during a training session.
Jacob went on to admit that the former Standard Liege player will not start the match and is likely to appear as a second half substitute, if he is granted the go-ahead by the club's doctors.
“Yesterday Mbokani trained only for 20 minutes until he felt pain. Let's see how the player feels, but we do not want to risk.” Jacobs concluded.
Injuries have restricted the promising striker to only two European starts this season, from which Mbokani has scored one and set-up another. He previously suffered the same injury while playing in the Belgian Pro League against
Cercle Brugge KSV.
