Ariella Aung captures Girls 50-yard freestyle title: 2011 High School State Championships
Ariella Aung and Cormac Hotmer rose to the expectations of their supporters at the NSCIF Division I Championships in Cottonwood, California, on Thursday, October 26. The results of the 2011 High School State Championships were launched online on Wednesday,
November 2. Aung notched the Girls 50-yard freestyle title, while Hotmer claimed the Boys 50-yard freestyle crown.
In the Girls 50-yard freestyle category, Ariella Aung was facing Paige Treff and Sami Sanders. Aung began the final heat in stunning fashion and knocked out her rivals by thrashing the finishing cordon in a winning mark of 25.23 seconds. In the meantime,
Treff was placed second in a time of 25.56 seconds and Sanders settled at third place with a mark of 27.32 seconds.
Laura Schreter earned fourth position by claiming the finishing barrier in a time of 28.21 seconds, while Savannah Gosselin settled at fifth spot in a mark of 28.80 seconds. Amelia Tonge picked sixth position in a blot of 28.82 seconds, whereas, Sidney Williamson
settled at seventh spot in a time of 29.23 seconds. Moreover, Jessica Bomann earned place honours by hitting the finishing blocks in a time of 29.24 seconds.
Additionally, the Boys 50-yard freestyle crown was taken over by Cormac Hotmer in a winning spot of 23.06 seconds. Taylor New gave his best attempt in the respective race and earned second position by touching the finishing cordon in a time of 23.57 seconds,
while Curtis Twitchell settled at third spot in a time of 23.65 seconds.
Zack Williamson presented a great show in the respective swim and pocketed fourth position by hitting the finishing wall in a time of 23.73 seconds. Theo Workman earned fifth place honours in a mark of 23.94 seconds, while Don Nickerson settled at sixth
position in a spot of 24.36 seconds.
Aaron Partridge posted an impressive time of 24.57 seconds to earn seventh position, while Jonny Borg picketed eighth spot in a mark of 24.65 seconds. Dallas Poston and Eddie Harvey were placed ninth and tenth by hitting the finishing line in a time of 24.81
seconds and 24.95 seconds, respectively.
