Ariens ST724 carb issue

Question

A friend sold me a very old Ariens ST724 for $100 a few years back and it worked like a champ until recently. While cleaning the carb I noticed the brass pin was bent - I tried to straighten it and it broke. I think if I could find a replacement pin in a rebuild kit I would be in good shape - but I can't figure out what I need to buy. I bought "tecumseh carb kit 31840" Which arrived today and it does not fit. Any clues? Thank you very much.
