Ariens st 622 string trimmer, starts but quickly

Ariens st 622 string trimmer, starts but quickly ceases running. I have found if you hold in the priming bulb, (not squeeze, just hold all the way in), it will run, but stops when you let go of primer bulb. What's wrong, and how can I fix it ?
