Aries and capricorn in a relationjship?

im an Aries, and my boyfriend is a Capricorn. Its been 3 years, pretty rough, but i think on the 3rd year we finally understand eachothers ways & agree to disagree (most of the time) lol. can it work or are these signs doomed
