  1. 1.   Life insurance usually only pays the named beneficiary on the policy.  If the beneficiary wants to reassign benefits to the funeral home, that's up to them.

    2.  180 days for a claim payment is NOT normal.  Usually, it's 2-3 weeks after all the paperwork is filed.  BUT, there's no law stating how long the insurance company can take.  Get the answer in writing, though, and file a complaint with your state insurance commissioner.

    3.  It doesn't matter if they are international or not - if the INSURANCE COMPANY is admitted to do business in the state of Texas, then the Texas Insurance Commissioner has authoriy to enforce the contract.

But, Erissa isn't life insurance.  And, it doesn't sound like you're talking with the right people, as the "job site" has NOTHING to do with life insurance.  But maybe you're talking about workers comp?  Or some kind of pension?

Sounds like it's NOT life insurance, from what you are saying.

  2. Flame301, Life insurance covers lots of different things. Since I'm from Ohio I'm not sure about Texas laws and regulations, so I suggest you contact a nearby insurance agent. http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Life-I... They will be able to assist you.
