  1. to aristotle equity is the law correcting itself in cases in which the law is found to be deficient by its generality and notable to cover all situations. equity and the law are not entirely the same but not entirely different. Both are right and praiseworthy.  not opposed to one another; each is a kind of justice. equity is superior as a good.

    equality = each receive his just due - equality for equals, which was ok with an unequal ordering of social groups. he said inequality is everywhere a cause of revolution and turmoil 'cos those who are not  equal demand equality

    of treatment  or when one or two among a group of equals

    demand more than their share eg of power within the

    state etc
