Ariza: We cannot have a bad camp and Pacquiao needs to focus – Boxing News
Alex Ariza, strength and conditioning coach for Manny Pacquiao the current WBO welterweight champion, has indicated Pacquiao’s lack of interest to train due to a bunch of controversial issues he is in right now. According to Alex, Pacquiao is taking the
risk of not being up to the mark.
In his recent interview, Ariza said, “We can't have a bad camp. His physical conditioning is very important. This must happen all the way. He's [Bradley] a high-volume puncher who'll come forward. Bradley's not a technical guy like [Juan Manuel] Marquez.
He fights somewhat like Manny. That's why I think it'll be an explosive fight. It's up to Manny how to prepare for Bradley. And against Bradley, he wants to prove something. His competitive spirit will take over. How he trains will impact on how he does against
Bradley. If he trains properly, Manny could blow that guy away in less than five rounds.”
It should be noted here that the bout between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley would have the Filipino’s welterweight title on the line. Therefore, it is imperative for Pacquiao to be in the right condition before he steps in the ring against Bradley.
The fight is scheduled for June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. If Pacquiao is able to win, it will be his 55th victory.
Manny Pacquiao is currently going through two major legal issues. The first issue was regarding non-payment of taxes filed by the bureau in Philippines and the second case revolves around Pacquiao smuggling used clothes to the country. Importing used clothes
in the country is banned by the government and by doing so Pacquiao has landed himself in yet another legal chaos.
Last week, Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s trainer, said that he would train Pacquiao hard to knockout Bradley since it has been more than 3 years the Filipino has not knocked out anyone. If Pacquiao is unable to concentrate on his training, Bradley can knock
him out which will be an embarrassment to the champion who is on the verge of his retirement. By losing this fight, Pacquiao will also lose chances of fighting unbeaten American fighter Floyd Mayweather jr.
