  1. The majority of the state recieves less than 20 inches of rain annually. The link provides a map.


  2. depends on what part of the state you're in

    Pheonix gets about 4 or 5 inches per year, Tuscon gets about 9 or 10

    some areas near Flagstaff can get over 20

    But most of the state is dry, and are  considered to be either arid or   semiarid areas
