Arizona Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald desperate to win Super Bowl – NFL News
Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is probably one of the best players on the Arizona Cardinals roster at the moment. He has been to Pro Bowl, declared All-Pro a few times and has been consistently giving great performances for the team.
That, however, is not satisfactory for him and he wants to win Super Bowl before retiring from the league.
Fitzgerald will turn 29 next month and after playing eight National Football League (NFL) seasons, he does not see himself playing eight more.
According to the Arizona Republic, Fitzgerald acknowledged that the window of opportunity is short for him. He said:
“I don't have another eight, nine years to play. I would love to, but realistically, that's not going to happen. So the window of opportunity is short, and that's another reason why I talked to Michael, why I talk to Andre (Roberts).”
He added:
"I tell them, 'Before you know it, you're going to look down and find gray hair in your beard. You're going to be sore in parts that were never sore before. It changes that fast, and I never realized that before. So I need your best right now.'”
Fitzgerald started his professional NFL career with the Cards in 2004. He has been playing as their regular starter since his rookie season and has been very successful in the role.
In six out of his eight seasons, the wide receiver was able to record over 1,000 receiving yards and is hungry for more.
Sadly, he has not been able to receive the due support from his quarterbacks, especially in the last season, to lead the team to the playoffs and championship games.
The Cardinals are also once again facing the quarterback dilemma and it has not yet been decided that who will be their starting quarterback this year. They are expected to announce the name in training camp.
It is essential for the quarterback to combine well with Fitzgerald if they want to win the National Football Conference (NFC) West.
They must not forget that they face stiff challenge from San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks in the division this year and the revamped St. Louis Rams could also surprise them.
