Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald wants to win the title – NFL News
Larry Fitzgerald thinks that only the Super Bowl win will satisfy his desire. This is a big demand, yet he is the only one who can fulfil his and Arizona Cardinals’ dream.
Arizona Cardinals’ wide receiver was ranked number seven on the National Football League (NFL) Networks Top 100 players list for the 2011 season on Wednesday June 27, 2012. The list is based on votes by all the players of the league.
Fitzgerald has been unarguably the best wide receiver in the whole league for the past two seasons. He has given consistent performances despite playing with different quarterbacks.
After being ranked among the top 10 players, Fitzgerald left a message for his fans on Facebook. He said:
"I've completed 8 NFL seasons, while I am somewhat satisfied with personal achievements, I have come close only once to achieving the ultimate team goal. I've grown into a position of leadership as a Cardinals team captain and have tried
to expand my role as a mentor and example for our core of young players.”
Fitzgerald had a phenomenal last season. He collected 80 passes, covering 1,411 receiving yards and got eight touchdowns.
In order to achieve his goal, Fitzgerald needs the support of his team. Cardinals have not yet decided that who will be their starting quarterback, but Fitzgerald hopes that whoever gets the starting role, he will be able to lead the team
to victories more often.
It was fourth time in his career that Fitzgerald covered over 1,400 yards. Fitzgerald has played eight seasons in the league since he started his career with the Cardinals.
In his career, Fitzgerald signed a staggering $120 million contract with the Cardinals. One can easily say that Fitzgerald has truly justified this deal. He said:
“I will strive as always to expand my role and contributions to team success, be as productive as possible, and win a Championship…..”
Last season, Cardinals staged a spectacular comeback after starting with 1-6. They ended up finishing 8-8.
If players like Kevin Kolb and Anquan Boldin are able to prove themselves, then the upcoming season will prove to be a good one for Cardinals.
In two of the last three seasons, Fitzgerald has remained in the top-five fantasy scorers for wide receiver.
Fitzgerald has been unfortunate not to play alongside a quality quarterback. If he would have played with players like Eli manning or Aaron Rodgers his records would have been even better.
