Arizona Diamondbacks' pitcher Trevor Bauer seems optimistic for his big league start – MLB News
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ pitcher Trevor Bauer, who has recently joined the club is looking optimistic for his future.
"There's no reason to panic or change, It's magnified because it's one big-league outing." Bauer said.
Diamondbacks’ called Trevor from their Minor League affiliates in order to bring more stability in their results.
So far, the Diamondbacks are going smooth but as soon as All-Star break will start, all the other teams will be looking for some more flair in their game.
Diamondbacks also did some change in their upfront strategy and called rookie pitcher Trevor into the roster as he made his Major League debut late last month.
This was the right move by the Diamondbacks management who at the moment is struggling with their offensive game while Trevor is the perfect combination for a good offensive rotation.
He is young and the amount of effort he has put in the Minor League Class-A Advanced Visalia Rawhide and Double-A Mobile BayBears, shows his determination and his place in the active roster certainly make sense.
Currently with only two games under his belt, he has performed quite decently. His ERA is slightly higher at 9.82 but with experience of more Major League games, his stats will certainly update his class.
“Hopefully it's 250 pitches, probably not realistic, but Nolan Ryan threw 244 pitches in a complete-game, 16-inning win." Bauer said.
Diamondbacks’ manager Kirk Gibson is also optimistic for Bauer’s play. Though he critically evaluated his game on Tuesday but still he stated good things for Bauer.
Gibson commented on Bauer's chances to become a role player in the roster and said, “I saw a kid who was disappointed in his performance, Every time I had the MLB channel on, they showed this picture of him sitting on the bench, which is very vivid in my mind from when we told him he's not going back out. I could tell he was disappointed, and I think Trevor has high expectations and he wants to be better than that."
Meanwhile, since Bauer has made it into the Major League, the Diamondbacks are looking confident to achieve post-season qualification.
