Arizona Diamondbacks' right fielder Justin Upton might be traded – MLB News
Recently news is coming in the media that the Arizona Diamondbacks’ management is considering their options for 24-year-old Justin Upton.
Upton has been playing for the Diamondbacks for over four years and is recently facing some tough times regarding his form. This is the main reason why Arizona wants a potential trade.
Some news reporters have recently published stories which clearly suggest that Upton might be traded after the All-Star break.
The trade deadline is also approaching fast but still the Diamondbacks have not officially stated in the media or issued any statement which provides any certain detail of Upton’s potential trade talks with any interested Major League franchise.
Many experts stated in the media that Diamondbacks, who are playing one of their worst Major League Baseball seasons, are thinking of qualifying for the post season. However, with this poor run, they cannot achieve any potential playoff spot.
Their recent six straight defeats in the regular season have further slipped their position in their Division.
To avoid any further damage, the Diamondbacks have turned their attention towards trading their one of the finest players in the roster. Upton possesses some real talent and wherever he will go his trade will bring another effective player into the Diamondbacks roster along with some possible cash as well.
Upton commented to the media on speculations regarding his trade talks and said, "Kevin Towers is a very smart GM, He knows a lot about the market, he know what he has in this team before he put it together and he's confident in his guys, confident in the decisions he made in the offseason. He's expressed that."
He added, "I haven't heard anything, I don't know if I'm going to hear anything closer to the deadline. But he's confident in this bunch so we'll see what happens. I'm not anticipating anything big. That being said, Kevin's also been known to be a guy who makes moves.”
Upton who started well in the fresh Major League season but later he lost his focus and was never able to play his natural game. He is currently hitting with an average of .267 along with seven homers, 36 RBIs and .349 OBP.
