Arizona Diamondbacks General Manager Kevin Towers looking to add Vladimir Guerrero – MLB News

The Arizona Diamondbacks are thinking towards some drastic measures to take regarding their team’s unexpected poor position in this ongoing Major League Baseball season.

Initially it was considered that the Diamondbacks’ offence this time around will be lot different than last year’s lame attacking offence.

However, when earlier in the fresh season, the Diamondbacks lost back-to-back five games against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves, the top management decided to bring some more fire power into the roster to stable somewhat the unwanted dire situation.

Recently, the Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers has turned his attention to bring in former Baltimore Orioles and current free agent from Dominican Republic, the talented right fielder Vladimir Guerrero.

Vladimir, a 16-year veteran and former Montreal Expos, Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers player, now will be joining soon the Diamondbacks.

Towers is planning a potential trip to Vladimir’s native country and looked quite hopeful when he talked to the media and told them about the chances of right fielder’s arrival in the Diamondbacks roster.

Towers stated in the media emphasising and highlighting on club's vice president of Latin operations, Junior Noboa and his hard work of getting players into the team from South American countries.

Towers said, "Who knows what comes of it, Junior knows him and likes him and says he looks good, Junior knows him well, and he's in the Dominican right now. (Noboa) said he's in good shape. I'm going to be down there for a workout anyway.”

Guerrero, who has a career .318 hitting average along with 449 home-runs, 1496 RBIs and .379 OBP, is considered one of the most feared hitters in Major League Baseball. Since his arrival in the big league, he has developed his game as a role player and fits
very well in different positions.

Last year, playing with the Baltimore Orioles, he went hitting at .290 along with 13 homers. However, at the moment, it is a very good chance for the Diamondbacks to offer him a lucrative deal and bring him into the roster for some steady future performances.
It will be exciting to see if the Diamondbacks manage to acquire Guerrero to help them for the rest of the regular season.
