Arizona Diamondbacks beat Colorado Rockies 8-7 – MLB Recap
Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies 8-7 in second game of their four-match regular series encounter on Saturday, September 22 at Coors Field in Denver.
Diamondbacks’ upfront batting line-up played well and earned a decent victory for their team. This was also a great victory for Arizona as they managed to defeat the Rockies in their second straight game.
"We're not out of it. We've still got a little time left, If we keep this up hopefully we put more pressure on teams in front of us, but we've got to keep it up ourselves," Jason Kubel said for his team’s performance which ousted the Rockies in style.
Kubel added with more confidence and explained about his team’s current situation saying, "We're not out of it. We've still got a little time left, If we keep this up hopefully we put more pressure on teams in front of us, but we've got to keep it up ourselves."
Centre fielder Adam Eaton scored two runs and smashed one hit on his four at-bats. He did well and maintained his .475 slugging percentage.
Second baseman Aaron Hill also added one run and smashed one hit along with four RBIs. He kept the Rockies' pitchers under pressure and did exceptionally well on his four at-bats as he maintained his slugging percentage at .511.
“Patrick had a great fastball but he left his secondary stuff up. When I got him out of there they were working on him pretty good,” manager Kirk Gibson said.
Right fielder Justin Upton scored two runs and smashed one hit on his four at-bats. He also played aggressive and helped the Diamondbacks to oust the Rockies.
Along with batters, the Diamondbacks’ pitchers also played offensively and rattled the Rockies with a one run advantage.
Patrick Corbin started the game for the Diamondbacks and proved too good in the end. He pitched three innings and allowed five runs but he still managed to maintain his ERA at 4.36.
Relief pitcher Brad Bergesen pitched two solid innings and received one hit. He struck-out two and maintained his ERA at 2.73.
