Arizona Diamondbacks beaten by Milwaukee Brewers 1-2 – MLB Recap
The Arizona Diamondbacks were defeated by Milwaukee Brewers 1-2 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, July 1 at Miller Park in 2012 League Baseball season.
Carlos Gomez played well for his team as the Brewers managed to power past the Diamondbacks in style.
"I don't like how many times they threw over. I get tired, There was nobody out and you're the fast guy on the team, they expect that you're going to run. You want to watch the move every time and then when you've got it you've got to go." Gomez said after the game and explained about his brilliant performance which gave his team a superb win.
Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke commented on his team’s tremendous play, especially about some senior players’ contribution and said, “When he's out there, something's going to happen, They did a nice job of throwing over a bunch of times to see if they could catch him, and Gomey did a good job of getting a jump there and making them try to rush the throw to get him.”
Starter Yovani Gallardo also proved a key winning factor for the Brewers as he helped his team to a decent victory.
He pitched 6.2 innings and allowed only three hits without any runs. He also struck-out six while his ERA remained consistent at 3.87.
On the other hand, the Diamondbacks’ starter Josh Collmenter despite playing well for his team could not save the game. He stayed on the mound for six innings and gave only one run while his ERA remained at 4.41.
Diamondbacks from start of the game played under pressure and lost in the end. Jason Kubel was the only player from the Diamondbacks’ roster who added a run in their score tally.
In the meanwhile, with this recent defeat, the Diamondbacks now slipped to third position in the National League West with 39-39 win-loss record with an average .500 winning percentage. However, some experts also say that if the Diamondbacks want to qualify for the post season, they must increase their winning percentage to .600.
