The Arizona Diamondbacks’ centre fielder Chris Young has lately stated in the media that the Major League Baseball Spring Training was a very good experience for him as he learned many good things regarding his game.
"It felt good," Young said. "I was able to bring what I worked extremely hard on in the off-season into the game and allow myself to stick with it and see what type of results could come if I could be consistent and not stray away from it."
Chris Young, whose Cactus League numbers are looking quite impressive as he completed his fifth home run during the very last game of 2012 trainings, is feeling happy and knows his chances next season.
He batted with an average of .407 along with seven doubles, five homers, ten walks, .507 on base percentage and remained consistent at .780 slugging during whole training sessions.
Young added, “It was nice, I'm happy to see some results from the work. But it's an everyday process to continue working."
Later Diamondbacks’ manager Kirk Gibson also stated regarding Young’s game in the Spring Training. He said, “He's swinging the bat great, I think he's better equipped to hit all pitches at different speeds. He's going to be much harder to defend. He's had a great spring.”
Young is a productive player and playing in the Diamondbacks’ franchise since 2006. Having achieved batting average of .240 along with 118 home-runs, 367 RBIs and .319 of OBP, Young has been certainly proving his game since his arrival in the big League especially in the Diamondbacks’ roster.
This is a healthy sign for the Diamondbacks as one of their best players are feeling comfortable ahead of next big event. Young, who is considered one of the most productive players in the entire Diamondbacks roster, is also known as a good role player.
During his presence on the pitch, the Diamondbacks always feel that they are accompanied by a good player who at times can give a substantial hard time to their all opponents. If things remained persistent for the Diamondbacks and for Chris Young, this is quite sure that the positive results will come for both.
