Arizona Diamondbacks crush Milwaukee Brewers 9-3 – MLB Recap
The Arizona Diamondbacks crushed the Milwaukee Brewers 9-3 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Friday, June 29 at Miller Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Second baseman Aaron Hill smashed a cycle and helped the Diamondbacks with a great win. This was his second cycle in the current MLB season.
"You can't think about it, you look for a ball up and hope things work out." Hill said with jubilation.
Hill added, “We didn't miss the balls up, We're best when we [capitalize] on their mistakes. That's what we did tonight. It's always nice when it works out."
Diamondbacks’ entire roster was jubilant on their player’s achievement as they also appreciated his brilliant play in the media.
Even some Brewers’ players also appreciated Hill and commented on his performance with good words.
"A cycle is one of those crazy things and to do it twice in (12) days -- that's crazy," Brewers' starting pitcher Randy Wolf said.
Brewers’ catcher George Kottaras, "He's swinging really well, I know it's tough to do."
"It's great, Obviously, it's great to get the win, too. It wouldn't have been as enjoyable if we came away with a loss. It was just a fun game.” Diamondbacks' second baseman said.
Overall the game was also dominated by the Diamondbacks. Though Aaron Hill provided a great platform to his team but it is important here to mention that the Diamondbacks’ pitchers also contributed in their team’s welcome win.
Diamondbacks’ starting rotation stood tall against the Brewers' batting line-up and proved unplayable.
Starter Ian Kennedy relief pitcher Brad Ziegler and closer Mike Zagurski played tremendously for the Diamondbacks and earned a great win.
Kennedy pitched seven innings and received six hits, three runs and one earned run. He also struck-out seven batters as his ERA rose to 4.20.
Later Brad Ziegler and closer Mike Zagurski pitched one inning each and remained scoreless.
In the meanwhile, with this win, the Diamondbacks now stand at third position in the National League West Division with 39-37 win-loss record along with a .513 winning percentage.
