Arizona Diamondbacks defeat Milwaukee Brewers 8-1 in Game 3 - MLB Playoffs

The batters and pitchers each showed a stunning performance to give the Arizona Diamondbacks an 8-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field, Arizona, in Game 3 of the National League Division Series on October 4.
Diamondbacks got an amazing started to keep themselves alive in the crucial game of the playoffs. They scored two runs in the first inning to take a competitive 2-0 lead. Miguel Montero drove a double-run drive to deep centre-field and Willie Bloomquist
contributed the first run. The second run for the Diamondbacks was taken by Montero when Paul Goldschmidt hit a single-run drive towards right-field.
In the second inning, Jerry Hairston Jr. singled to right-field while Yuniesky Betancourt and Jonathan Lucroy both flied out. Shaun Marcum also struck-out without adding runs. Similarly, Ryan Roberts and Josh Collmenter both grounded out without giving the
Brewers their initial run as Gerardo Parra flied out at the bottom of the second. Both teams added one run to advance the score-board 3-1.
Corey Hart hit a solo home-run (421 feet) towards left-centre to lift the potential of the Brewers. On the other side, Aaron Hill scored a single run to advance the lead for Diamondbacks when Montero hit towards centre-field and Justin Upton moved to third
base. Rickie Weeks fouled out to third base, Hairston Jr. flied out and Betancourt struck-out during the fourth inning.
At the bottom of fourth inning, Chris Young fouled out to catcher, Roberts struck-out and Parra ground out without taking any run. Diamondbacks raised their lead 8-1 by blasting five quick runs in the fifth inning. Goldschmidt struck a solo homer (383 feet)
towards right-field while Collmenter, Bloomquist and Montero each singled to advance the lead for Arizona.
Roberts drove towards centre-field and Young posted the final run to end the five-run campaign for Arizona. The batters played shots in search of runs during the last four innings but could not find any fielding gaps. Craig Counsell flied out, Hart lined
out and Nyjer Morgan struck-out at the top of the eighth inning.
Roberts hit a shot towards left-field but Young and Parra both struck-out while John McDonald ground out to the pitcher at the bottom of the eighth. However, Diamondbacks kept themselves alive and reduced their lead 2-1 in the five-game series at Arizona.
