Arizona Diamondbacks defeated by Texas Rangers 0-1 – MLB Recap
The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Texas Rangers 0-1 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, June 12 at Rangers Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Starter Matt Harrison pitched over seven scoreless inning and earned a great win for the Rangers. He played exceptionally well and never allowed any Diamondbacks’ batter to hit him freely.
Though he was smashed with six hits but still remained calm on the mind and maintained his 3.54 ERA.
"It was very critical, matching the zeroes. ... He got the opportunity to put it up first, and Harry kept doing it. Tonight, it only took one run, tonight it only took one hit in the right situation. ... Give Harry a lot of credit." Rangers’ manager Ron
Washington said for his team’s tremendous win in which they played as one unit and rattled the Diamondbacks with full force.
Mike Adams also gave the helping hand to his teammate Harrison with his 0.2 innings’ spell.
"Anytime you get two big outs in situations like that, definitely everybody's a little pumped up. Go in your half inning with a little bit of adrenaline, a little bit of motivation, See what happens. The guys did their job. We played a little small ball
and did what we had to do." Adams said on his little outing as he also proved brilliant for the Rangers.
On the other hand, the Diamondbacks’ starter Wade Miley, despite playing good, could not save the game for his team.
He received three hits and one run only and also maintained his 2.39 ERA.
From start of the game, they Rangers played drastically attacking and gave no chance to the Diamondbacks at any stage of the game to take control instead they kept them under pressure and won in the end.
The win now takes the Texas side at top position in the American League West with 37-26 win-loss record and .587 winning percentage.
The Diamondbacks on the other hand, are sitting at third position in the National League West with 30-32 win loss and .484 winning percentage.
