The Arizona Diamondbacks edge past the Kansas City Royals 2-0 in the third match of their three-game regular series encounter on Sunday, May 20 at Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City in 2012 Major League Baseball and took the series away 2-1.
The Diamondbacks’ entire roster played brilliantly and held the Royals firm with their combined play. Especially the Diamondbacks starter Wade Miley was the key man behind in his team’s win. He stayed on the mound with confidence and never allowed any runs
to Royals’ batters who only able to hit his fast throws six times.
He never lost his composure and stood tall against the Royals’ batters. Striking out three batters, Miley also never allowed any earned runs.
"That was an easy game to call for me because everything he threw was working, Miley threw a great game. He worked fast and stayed ahead in the count. I don't think those guys were too comfortable in the box." Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero said for
Miley, who played brilliantly for his team and won the game singlehandedly.
Later Royals manager Ned Yost also said for Miley and his brilliant outing in which he never allowed any Royals’ player to dominate him, “Miley was that good, we’ve watched video on him. He was exactly what we thought he'd be. He's got really good stuff,
commands the ball down and kind of throws across his body, has a very quick arm and is tough to pick up. He's got a real good changeup, a nice cutter. He was tough on us."
On the other hand, the Royals pitcher Nate Adcock also did well for his team, but could not save the game because lack of support from batting offence. The Royals’ batters were too lame against the Diamondbacks offence which also gradually lost the grip
on the game at the last inning and lost the game in a humiliating manner.
The Diamondbacks took early lead in the fifth and maintained it throughout the game. They added another run in the eighth and kept their opponents under pressure while eventually winning it with delight.
