Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers certain to show good results in 2013 – MLB Update
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ general manager Kevin Towers knows how difficult the next Major League Baseball season will be as all the other leading teams are also preparing hard.
"We've got to rely on [director of player development] Mike Bell and Ray Montgomery to supply us the players so we can compete with large-market clubs that can go out bid on free agents, You see in baseball other sports that the team that wins is not always
the one who spent the most,” said Towers in the past and explained in the media with great detail about Diamondbacks’ future plans.
He added with more details, "And don't forget, we have the Giants, who have won the World Series two of the last three years, to compete with as well."
He further added, “We came into the offseason hoping we could add a shortstop we would have control over for an extended period of time."
However, currently he has been busy bringing some new faces in the franchise. Though he has brought new players in this offseason but still some signing are pending.
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ have recently acquired shortstop Didi Gregorius from Cincinnati and signed free agent outfielder Cody Ross. Along with these two players, the Diamondbacks are still willing to introduce new players most probably some potential pitchers.
Didi Gregorius last played for the Cincinnati Reds and showed consistent performance throughout the completion. He achieved .300 hitting average along with two RBIs and .300 OBP.
He will be a good addition in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ roster who could not get desired results in the last Major League Baseball season. On the other hand, the other new face Cody Ross is also an experienced campaigner.
Cody Ross last played for the Boston Red Sox and showed consistent results throughout the season. He achieved consistent numbers of .267 hitting average along with 22 home runs, 81 RBIs and .326 OBP.
Not in the last Major League Baseball season, but Cody Ross has been playing quite persistently since 2013 with .262 hitting average along with 122 home runs, 452 RBIs and .324 OBP.
