Arizona Diamondbacks infielder John McDonald explains his team’s on the road misery – MLB News
The Arizona Diamondbacks infielder John McDonald is now speaking in the media regarding his team’s miserable record on road games.
He is not happy at all the way Diamondbacks’ experienced and young players are playing when visiting opposing teams. Their consistency level does not look impressive as the Diamondbacks lost eight crucial games on the road since coming into this Major League
Baseball season.
"We had opportunities to win a lot of the games that we lost (on the road trip)," infielder John McDonald said. "Obviously, that's disappointing, and for a team that wants to get to the postseason, we can't have trips like this."
The recent shocker from the New York Mets has just added more humiliation in the Diamondbacks away game record. They defeated the Diamondbacks in style 2-1 while the Diamondbacks’ road misery is continuous with the recent hammering by the 2011 World Series
Champions St. Louis Cardinals.
The latest 9-6 huge defeat from the St. Louis Cardinals provoked the Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson, who told the media showing his frustration about that particular loss.
“I don't think we played a very good game (Sunday)," Gibson said. "... When you're playing so many close games, it's just hard to make mistakes like that. You don't need to remind me."
Later Miguel Montero also told the media, "It's a bad feeling. I think we haven't clicked together all the way. The pitchers have been doing a h**l of a job.”
In the meanwhile, this is a not a good sign for the Diamondbacks roster which is not even matching the stats of their old rivals San Francisco Giants.
The Giants winning percentage is standing at .483 while the Diamondbacks are behind at .467. The Giants are on the road sitting comfortable 6-8 while the Diamondbacks on the road record is poor with 8-8.
On the other hand, the Diamondbacks are currently playing with St. Louis Cardinals while the very next series is against the Giants and if they want their position to be subtle in this ongoing Major League season, they must win and show all other opponents
their energy.
