Arizona Diamondbacks lose to Colorado Rockies 0-4 – MLB Recap
The Arizona Diamondbacks lost to Colorado Rockies 0-4 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, May 4 at Chase Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Rockies, who were coming with a great recent three-match series’ win against the Los Angeles Dodgers, started the game with full energy and exposed the Diamondbacks faltering offence which could not even score a single run in the entire nine innings.
Not only the Diamondbacks’ batting lineup failed but also their pitching did not perform well while in the end both areas of play cost them with an early loss in the series.
On the other hand, rookie Christian Friedrich was the main difference in the Rockies’ win. He remained scoreless for seven innings and received only four hits. He struck-out four and maintained his fresh season’s 4.50 ERA with quite brilliance.
Later in the game, Friedrich told the media about the tremendous outing he had. He said with confidence, "I guess that's just the way it works, I don't put too much emphasis. It's just the outcome of the game that matters. I've had worse records with better
stuff than I'm throwing right now.”
Rockies manager Jim Tracy seemed contended when he talked to the media with full confidence. He was as happy as his team fought well and never showed any extra loop holes which could have given them some surprise instead, the Rockies entire roster stayed
calm and played a balanced game which in the end proved helpful for their yet another great win.
"Adversity punched us in the face about as hard as you can be hit, But the beauty about this group is that they kept playing, they kept playing hard, and they kept playing for one another. We didn't point fingers. We're not going to do things like that.
It's a tribute to those guys out there in that clubhouse. It's just a wonderful group." Rockies manager Jim Tracy said.
With this win, the Rockies have climbed up with one place in the National League West leaving San Diego Padres at bottom. They are currently playing with 24-30 win-loss record along with .444 winning percentage.
