Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson believes Patrick Corbin competing for a spot on the team
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ have just completed their 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training in Arizona and now looking ahead for Opening Day to show their proved skills in the coming season.
The Diamondbacks did a good job during the training sessions, but they have still to announce the final starting rotation for 2012 regular season.
Lately when the team management somewhat tried and looked deep into several players stats, numbers and particular things on different positioned players, one player Patrick Corbin is making them impress, who has played a tremendous consistent display of skills in the recent Spring Training.
The team manager Kirk Gibson also commented on Corbin performance and predicted about his game that he might be coming into the starting rotation next season. Gibson stated in detail for Corbin and his potential chances of making into the big league.
He said, “He's competing for a spot on the team. I don't know. We'll see. There are many different combinations I've considered. Well, you always consider changes. I don't look at the last inning, although it's a good experience for him, I think in the last inning he got tired. He wouldn't tell you he did. I feel like I've had a good spring and showed them what I had; hopefully, they'll give me a shot this year. When you're throwing well, you give yourself an opportunity.”
Corbin, who is considered one of the best prospects came into the Diamondbacks’ franchise in their near history, is also a very good athlete and plays with huge energy all the time.
His recent form and good stats in the Spring Training shows a very positive side of his game. If he makes into the starting rotation, that will be much helpful for the Diamondbacks.
In the meanwhile, the Diamondbacks are optimistic for their rest of the roster. Their preparations for 2012 season already went well and now the things are looking extremely comfortable for the South Arizona baseball franchise is to show the other League teams level of energy they have at the moment which will likely to produce consistent results for them.
