Arizona Diamondbacks’ newly signed Jason Kubel thrilled to play at Chase Field – MLB Update
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ newly acquired free agent outfielder, Jason Kubel is showing great enthusiasm to play at Diamondbacks’ home stadium, Chase Field, in upcoming April. A Former Minnesota Twins player, Kubel joined hands some two days ago with the
Diamondbacks franchise after receiving no insurance from his former team management as he will get his contract extended or not.
As soon as he was given assurance of no any potential new contract, he filed for free agency late in November and eventually made a two year deal with the Arizona based franchise. Kubel’s smooth arrival in the Diamondbacks is now giving him more confidence
to state publically as to how pleased he is feeling now after becoming a part of Diamondbacks’ 40-man roster for 2012.
Recently in Arizona, Kubel spoke with some reporters via telephone and answered their questions with full energy and great optimism. He was very particular about the arena, Chase Field, where he is going to play most games during his two year’s stay with
the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Kubel said, “This was a very, very close second, I like how close it is to home, and I don’t have to worry about going back East anymore. I like the way the ball comes off my bat here. It’s no secret that a lot of people didn’t like Target Field to hit there,
I can use the whole field and still put up power numbers instead of trying to pull the ball in the air to get it out. I did get in trouble trying to do that too often, and it showed in the numbers.”
Kubel, a six-year veteran who has played in over 700 games in the Major League Baseball, certainly spoke positive for his future affiliation with the Diamondbacks and with the baseball-field where will be playing from next year.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks too made a correct decision of signing Jason Kubel for next couple of seasons as his fast and exhilarating approach towards the game will also help them to stay on top against all the major opponents in 2012.
