Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Chris Young returns from DL – MLB News
The Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Chris Young now will be playing against the inter-league series against the Kansas City Royals as he has been reinstated from 15-day disabled list due to right shoulder contusion injury.
The management has announced that Young will be coming and has recovered completly. They also added that his arrival at this point of time is also very beneficial for the Diamondbacks who are at the moment struggling to keep up the pace with their own league’s franchises.
“It was great," Young said. "No matter how many at-bats you get in the Minor Leagues, when you get here it's just completely different. You've got a little more adrenaline flowing. You're locked in a little more. ... It was great to be back in the lineup. It didn't even matter about the results today. Just to get back in the groove of things and get my legs back under me, and get into a baseball game, it was great."
"[My] shoulder's come a long way. It's been good," Young added. The All-Star outfielder is considered a well balanced fielder, who also with his great athleticism covers a lot of centre field as well.
The six-year Major League veteran Young was carrying .395 hitting average before hurting his right shoulder. The 28-year old also carries a healthy career .242 hitting average along with 123 home-runs, 382 RBIs and .321 OBP.
His arrival into the Diamondbacks roster is certainly a very good thing. He is a kind of player who always plays for his team. During his time in the Diamondbacks roster, he never played selfishly as well as provided many wins to his team where he started his baseball career in 2006.
In the meanwhile, regarding his fast recovery which is certainly a positive sign for the entire Diamondbacks’ roster, Young revealed that he was given different rehab Minor League assignments which has proved great for him. He told the reporters, the level of work outs they do, their eating habits and some important pieces of advices he has also taken from the Minor League players and which are mainly the reasons why he is out on the field so early.
