Arizona Diamondbacks rout Seattle Mariners 14-10 – MLB Recap
The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Seattle Mariners 14-10 in a high scoring game in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, June 20 at Chase Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Diamondbacks’ not only won with game but they also won the series 2-1.
"We didn't quit and kept putting runs in the board, Ryno's inside the parker was exciting, Miggy had a great day. J-Up got back on track. It was a pretty good team effort." Diamondbacks' manager Kirk Gibson said on his team’s tremendous combined effort.       
Third base Ryan Roberts played a key role in the Diamondbacks’ win as he helped them with his tremendous home-run in the bottom sixth inning.
Later in the game, several reporters asked questions from Roberts on his performance. Roberts replied, "I was so gassed, It doesn't seem like that far around the bases, but it is when you're running that hard. I'm just glad I didn't fall over."
It was a total team effort as the Diamondbacks never showed any loose ends to give their opponents somewhat any probability to take control of the game.
From start of the game, the Diamondbacks kept the Mariners under pressure and took early two runs’ lead in the very first inning.
In the bottom of the third the Mariners started their thrust which was also effective as they not only overpowered the lead instead they also took a two run advantage by making five quick runs.
Later from fourth inning onwards, the Diamondbacks never looked back and stretched their score to 14 which eventually proved decisive as they win 14-10.
Mariners’ starting pitcher Jason Vargas received 10 runs along with nine hits and literally proved unproductive.
"They swung the bats well, You can't take anything away from them, but I gave them some opportunities. They didn't miss any of them." said Vargas.
Though the Diamondbacks’ starter Trevor Cahill also played an average game but he was still managed to earn a victory for his team. He pitched six innings and received nine hits, six runs and six earned runs.
