Arizona Diamondbacks’ starting pitcher Daniel Hudson goes on 15-day disabled list – MLB News
The Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Daniel Hudson is being sent to rest for 15-day after he was injured with his right shoulder impingement.
Hudson was selected by team manager Kirk Gibson to pitch against the Philadelphia Phillies in today’s game, but due to the recent injury, he will be going home for at-least 15 days.
Team manager Kirk Gibson said for Hudson, "I'm sure we're leading the pack in that category, and that's not one you want to be leading, It's part of it. It's coming at us pretty consistently right now. But we'll get it under control. We'll stave it off. There's no panic."
Hudson was playing with an ERA of 6.00 along with 1-1 win loss, 12 strikeouts and 1.61 WHIP this season before getting hurt with a minor shoulder impingement.
"It's scary, especially if you've never felt it before," said Hudson. "All the worst thoughts go through your mind."
Though the injury is minor and the team doctors do not think that any misfortune will happen with Hudson’s game due to this particular shoulder damage, but still the Diamondbacks taking precautionary measures for their player.
Later the Diamondbacks’ physicians sent Hudson for an MRI exam, but results showed no serious damage happened to his throwing shoulder.
The Diamondbacks right-hander pitcher Jonathan Albaladejo later was included into the roster for the Philadelphia series. He is currently playing with a Diamondbacks Minor League Triple-A Reno.
In the meanwhile, the Diamondbacks Takashi Saito has also injured as he was taking part in pitchers’ fielding practice on Friday and gave another blow to the team.
"And that's when it happened, so he's not ready to pitch here," Gibson said. "We'll have to back him down, keep his arm going and try to get his calf healed. It's not healed yet."
With these recent injuries, the Diamondbacks can lose the early level of thrust which they are currently showing in the regular series.
The Diamondbacks next opponents including Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins, Washington Nationals, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants are also playing well and if they really want to outdo all, the team must be playing as one unit from next game onwards.
