Arizona Diamondbacks thrash Miami Marlins 8-4 – Major League Recap
The Arizona Diamondbacks hammered the Miami Marlins 8-4 in their third match of three-game series matchup in 2012 Major League Baseball season on Sunday, April 29 at Marlins Park, Miami, Florida.
The Diamondbacks pitcher Wade Miley played brilliantly and proved winning factor for Arizona’s baseball franchise.
"It was awesome, He was cruising along, and it was a lot of fun to watch.” Teammate Jason Kubel said for Miley’s great play and his constant well deserted pitching.
Miami’s batting lineup could not hit until the sixth innings losing too much self confidence against Miley’s fast curving throws and lost in the end.
Miley, who is currently with 3-0 record finished with giving only one hit an unearned run in just over six innings leading his team to victory for the second time against the Marlins.
"Everything was working out for me today," the left-hander said. "Any time you go out and establish the strike zone, you are going to have success. There's nothing like working fast and being able to throw strikes."
Miami’s recent loss to the Diamondbacks has now put team manager Ozzie Guillen under enormous pressure. Guillen after the game, also sent somewhat of an explanation in the media and tried to enlighten some facts about his team’s late poor plays.
"I'm concerned because it's not fun," manager Ozzie Guillen said with little annoyance. "It's very hard to have fun when you're not playing well. We cannot be worse than this. Obviously we're going to play better. It seems like right now we're not having fun at all."
Marlins were behind 8-0 until third basemen Hanley Ramirez scored his team’s first run. Though later in the eighth inning, the Marlins added further three runs, but the Diamondbacks’ four-run lead were much bigger for them to counter as they lost in the end 8-4.
In the meanwhile, the defeat made Marlins little alarm as they did some drastic moves after the game opting out for outfielder Chris Coghlan and left handed pitcher Mike Dunn to Triple-A New Orleans while recalling outfielder Bryan Petersen and left hander pitcher Dan Jennings in order to increase the productivity.
