Arizona State looking to hire two former NBA Coaches

Herb Sendek has been looking to for suitable personal to complete his coaching staff at Arizona State University and according to latest reports; he is considering hiring two ex-NBA coaches.
Eric Musselman – a former NBA head coach and Larry Greer who was the Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach last season - are the two people which Sendek has considered bringing in to complete his staff. The official announcement of the hiring is due on Tuesday as only a few minor details are being worked out on the contracts.
Musselman’s coaching experience in the NBA has come with the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings. His time with the Warriors came to an end after two seasons during which he managed a win loss record of 75-89.
He returned to the NBA as the head coach with the Kings, but was fired only after one season. Even though, the Kings started the season rather well but struggled at the end of the campaign to post up a 33-49 losing record. Other than being a head coach in the NBA, Musselman was the head coach of the D-Fenders – the D-League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers. He finished last season with a win loss record of 38-12.
He also spent time as an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks and the Memphis Grizzlies. On the other hand, Greer has had prior spells as an assistant coach with the Wright State and Boston University.
With the hiring of these two experienced personal, Sendek will hope they can come as great help in making it to the post season, something they have not been able to do for the past two seasons. They finished last season with a win-loss record of 6-12 and a 10-21 overall record. And have only made it to the NCAA tournament only once under Sendek’s tenure.
Both Musselman and Geer will come in as replacements for Scott Pera and Lamont Smith who went to Washington and will be working together with Dedrique Taylor who is currently the associate head coach with the ASU program.
