Bayern Munich will take on Real Madrid in a crucial first-leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night at the Allianz Arena. The home side would need a good result in the first-leg to put the pressure on the Spanish giants for the return leg.
Arjen Robben, who formerly played for Los Blancos, claimed that his side has the potential to beat Real Madrid and is confident ahead of the semi-final clash. “We will give everything. We have no doubt that to eliminate Madrid, we will have to be at 120 per cent, at our maximum, and play the perfect game. Their enormous potential is clear, but the most important things is that they have the best coach, who always knows how to play these games. You have to watch them closely the whole time,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the winger also praised his old club for the amazing football it has played this season. He admitted that he had a great time while playing for the Madrid giants but shrugged off any rumours of a possible return by claiming that he is happy at his current side.
“I had some very good years at Madrid. It's a great club, and it's obviously special to face my old team-mates, but I have been at Bayern for a while now and I am happy here,” he concluded.
