Having spent almost three months on the sidelines due to injury, Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has expressed relief on his return. He told that it was the worst injury he has ever countered in his entire career and hoped to stay fit for remainder of
the campaign.
Robben was talking ahead of his team’s mouth watering encounter against the reigning Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund. Both teams will lock heads on Saturday, November 19, at Allianz-Arena.
The Dutchman told that it was the worst injury he ever faced in the entire career and hoped to stay away from any problem of this extent. He added that the three months of rehabilitation period were nothing less than a challenge.
Robben, though, showed delight at his team’s performance during his absence and was glad to see his side standing tall in both the Bundesliga and Champions League.
He also confirmed about his fitness ahead of the Dortmund clash, but was unsure of his inclusion in the starting XI. He stated that his manager feels hesitant in including him for weekend’s game straightaway after making a return from a career threatening
injury.
While talking to Bild on his return to action, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 international further enthused:
"I've had my fair share of injuries, but I've never experienced something like this. This was the worst injury in my life. It's impossible to imagine how bad it was. I had a lot of pain and the recovery process was very hard."
He also added, "I'm obviously looking forward to the game and to making my comeback. I can hardly wait for the match to take place. However, we don't want to risk anything by rushing my comeback."
When asked about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904’s emphatic win over his country in a friendly on Tuesday, the 27-year-old laughed it off, saying that he was injured, otherwise Germany would certainly have tasted defeat at Imtech Arena.
Robben has only featured in four of the 12 league games this season and is desperately looking forward to the first team action, which might still take a week.
