The Bayern Munich winger has publically admitted his guilt of diving in a DFB Pokal game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Bochum-c40880, and faces action from German Football Association.
The winger was talking in the wake of his team’s hard fought 2-1 win over the second-division side at the rewirpowerStadion on Tuesday, December 20.
Bochum took the lead through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 equalised for the visitors in the 52nd minute. Robben made it 2-1 with just 40 seconds remaining on the clock.
The Bavarian giants struggled to find an equaliser in the first-half despite making several penetrations in the opposition half. Bayern were accused of dirty tactics during the game, as Robben dived intentionally after a clean
tackle from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-Maltritz-c23518 in the 41st minute.  However, the move did not work, and the winger was booked for diving. The Dutchman, later, had to apologise for his theatrical act.
Robben was also accused of diving in Bayern’s recent league game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-c9491 Molinaro’s sending off in Die Rotten’s 2-1 defeat.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 international has admitted to his mistake, and has assured of refraining from these acts in the future.
While talking to ZDF after Tuesday’s win, the 27-year-old mentioned:
“That was stupid. Perhaps it was a penalty, but then I should have fallen earlier.  I saw that I could not get the ball. It was stupid. I must not do things like this – and I apologise. Bochum can be proud, they played a class
game.”
Wtih the win on Tuesday, Bayern have qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition alongside Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim and Greuther Furth.
The Dutchman also went onto praise Bochum for putting up a brave show against the German giants. He opined that the second-division side played extremely well and kept Bayern on the back foot throughout the match.
The Stuttgart officials have already lodged a complaint against the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 star, and the DFB might be forced to take an action against him.
The draws for the quarter-finals will take place in Munich next month.
