Arjen Robben could make way for Marco Reus - Bundesliga News
Bayern Munich's injury-prone winger, Arjen Robben, is believed to be making way for Borussia Monchengladbach attacker, Marco Reus. With Robben's injury woes far from ending, the German giants are tipped to go for the young attacker next summer.
It has recently been revealed that the Bavarian giants are considering bringing in Marco Reus in place of oft-injured winger, Arjen Robben. The Dutchmen has been a prolific goal scorers for the Reds, but consistent injuries have stopped him from making continuous
inroads.
Robben has already spent majority of the first half of this season on the sidelines and recently made a comeback against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. However, the winger failed to make any serious impact and was later ruled out of the Champions League
game against Manchester City due to flu.
With Reus’ transfer on the cards, the Netherlands international would have to part ways with the Allianz-Arena outfit prior to the start of next season.
Bayern officials have also hinted at the same, though, they urged the Dutch winger to work on his fitness.
Bayern manager, Jupp Heynckes, showed displeasure at the player’s fitness but still regarded him an asset for his side. He was of the view that Robben’s departure would be huge upset for the club as the attacker is enormously talented and can single handedly
win games for his side.
Reus’ current contract with Borussia Monchengladbach is set to expire in 2015, but his buy-out clause can be triggered for 17.5 million Euros.
Gladbach officials have also shown awareness to Bayern’s interest in the youngster and would only consider any offer if Reus himself wishes to part ways with the club.
Should the 22-year-old decide against joining Bayern, Die Roten will have the option to go for Schalke’s Jefferson Farfan. Farfan will be available on a free transfer at the end of the 2011/12 campaign.
